Export Coordination

Export Documentation

Using our custom developed in-house system, we quickly and accurately produce all documents required for export customs clearance, including invoices, packing lists and certificates of origin. Using our specialist trade knowledge, we can identify individual HS codes, advise on country-specific export/import regulations, and handle shipping arrangements in compliance with the latest trade rules such as EPA/FTA as well as the customer’s own shipping and import manuals.

Export Arrangements

We arrange for the export of goods to Japan, up to and including confirmation of payment and delivery dates to the purchaser.
In preparation for smooth import arrangements, we check in advance the EPA/FTA compliance with the exporter and the contents of the invoice.

International Trademarks

Preliminary Search

We investigate whether the trademark or anything similar is already registered. The legality of trademarks vary from country to country as does the criteria for registration, such as the first-to-file, first-to-use , or the no-examination principle. In some cases, a complicated and lengthy process is required to successfully register a trademark.

Application Filing

The process from application to registration is not always a smooth one. In particular, if you are refused due to the existence of a similar trademark we must compile data on sales results and use of the trademark in Japan and abroad, and argue to the examiner that the trademark is dissimilar from all perspectives. If not, we will suggest another course of action.

Other Advice

We handle everything from filing oppositions to rejections, offering guidance on how to respond in such cases including making amendments, and filing trials for cancellation of non-use. Even in cases where the trademark is owned by a third party or where we have no choice but to abandon the registration due to a similar trademark, we will propose and consider alternatives.
